Johnny-Galecki-Rings

In his day job at The Big Bang Theory, the only scary issues Johnny Galecki’s Leonard usually have to deal with are his roommate’s overbearing attitude to everything and possibly his own sinuses. But the actor will be dealing with much more terrifying events as he’s signed on to co-star in **Rings.

The film represents Paramount’s attempts to breathe fresh life into the J-horror-spawned franchise, which has been quiet of late. The plot will reportedly find Galecki’s charismatic, hard-living professor Gabriel mentoring younger couple Holt (Alex Roe) and Julia (Matilda Lutz). We’d expect them all to somehow come into contact with the cursed videotape in a story that takes place 13 years after the original American Ring.

F. Javier Gutiérrez is directing this one, working from a script by David Loucka, Jacob Aaron Estes and Akiva Goldsman, with shooting already underway ready for a November 13 release in the States. Galecki largely appears on The Big Bang Theory at the moment, though he recently started a production company to develop other projects.
