Though he's kept his hand in directing, John Woo hasn't made a film aimed at Western audiences for a long time. We're happy to report, then, that it appears he's headed back behind the camera for a Stateside production with an intriguing concept. Joel Kinnaman is on board to star in Silent Night.

No, it won't be Christmas themed – and in fact, Camille Griffin's new film, due later this year is a twisted take on festivities with that very same title – it's actually aiming to have a movie without a word of dialogue. According to Deadline, the story will see Kinnaman as a father who heads into the underworld to avenge his young son’s death.

The idea of Woo returning for a new action movie is definitely something to anticipate – here's hoping it all comes together.
