We’re beginning to suspect that in his movie sequel, Deadpool is going to get a dog, Cable is going to kill that dog and Deadpool is gonna F him up. Or the only connection it will have to those events is that David Leitch, uncredited co-director of John Wick, has come aboard Deadpool 2. We kind of like our version, but go with your gut.

Tim Miller, who directed the first film that caught Hollywood with its pants down (a $58 million production pulled just shy of $783 million at the global box office) departed the project over... wait for it... creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds. Other names reportedly in the directorial mix were Magnus Martens and Drew Goddard.

Leitch's next directorial effort is summer 2017's The Coldest City, and his name is attached to the currently-in-development films Dan Mintner: Badass For Hire and Bloodshot, based on the Valiant comic character of the same name.
