Now that George Clooney’s finished sorting his diary for the next two years, he’s turned his attention to filling out the cast of Leatherheads, the 1920’s American football rom com he’s directing.

His first pick for the team (apart from himself and Renee Zellweger) is John Krasinski, better known for the US Office and about to star in the Robin Williams comedy Licence To Wed.

The plot finds a team owner (Clooney) hiring a straight-arrow player (Krasinski) who helps bring a little popularity to the then-frowned upon sport. But trouble starts when the boss starts taking a liking to his new hire’s fiancée (Zellweger).

One small thing they still have to figure out – how to fit the film’s spring start around Krasinski’s day job at the sitcom.
