After breaking out in Joe Cornish’s Attack The Block, John Boyega has been trying his luck in the States. He’s had some mixed fortunes, but has also been winning praise for his work on** Imperial Dreams**, which got solid reviews at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. For his next gig, he’ll be back in London as part of 24: Live Another Day.

No details were offered in Variety’s report of the casting, but we do know Boyega will be a recurring character. The US Fox network is bringing Jack back for a “limited series” new season of 12 episodes that will find the perpetually time-crunched CTU agent shifted to London for a new mission. Somehow, that will involve the Prime Minister, with Stephen Fry taking that role. Will he be as corrupt as The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug's Master of Laketown?

Boyega joins a cast that also already includes 24 alumni Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver and William Devane, plus newcomers to the show Giles Matthey, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Wincott, Yvonne Strahovski and Judy Davis. The behind-the-scenes crew is also largely returning, with producers Howard Gordon and co-creator Robert Cochran and writer-producers David Fury, Evan Katz, Manny Coto alongside director Jon Cassar. The show has a May airdate set in the US, but there is no official word on when it’ll hit these shores.

Boyega also signed on recently to star as Jesse Owens in Race, a biopic of the great 1930s athlete, who embarrassed Hitler at the Berlin Olympics by being freakin' brilliant. That's due to start shooting in May for a spring 2015 release, with locations including the Berlin stadium where Owens won his four gold medals.
