The “limited series” (come on America, just call it a miniseries or “a bit like what the BBC has done for years”) based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s Oscar-scoring crime caper Fargo continues to develop in interesting ways. Joey King, Kate Walsh and Josh Close are jumping aboard the cast for the drama.

Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Oliver Platt and Bilbo himself, Martin Freeman, are all already aboard in a tale that will spin a new story in the titular town. Freeman is Lester Nygaard, a small-town insurance salesman whose life suddenly becomes more dangerous when he meets Lorne Malvo (Thornton). Hanks is playing the local police deputy, with King on as his daughter, Greta. Close will be Freeman’s brother, while Walsh is set to play a trophy wife-type who is none too pleased at having to play the family game and raise two sons.

Noah Hawley is in charge of the 10-episode series, with guidance from the Coens. US network wants the show on the air some time in 2014.
