Acclaimed novel Daughter Of Rust And Bone is another young adult tale shaping up to follow The Hunger Games and, soon, The Mortal Instruments onto the big screen. How do we know? Because, it's, like, totally got a producer now. Joe Roth will be overseeing an adaptation that's sure to have fans of the book tingling a little bit.

Roth is the man behind this year's successful Snow White And The Huntsman adaptation - not to mention its forthcoming sequel - and 2013's **Maleficent **and Oz The Great And Powerful, both of which will aim to make a motza with young moviegoers. His bedtime stories must be a thing of genius.

This time he'll be handling Laini Taylor's YA novel of a young girl called Karou who balances life as an art student in Prague with a shadier existence in a world of monsters, violence, teeth collection and much strangeness.

“In Daughter Of Smoke And Bone, Laini Taylor masterfully tells a story of identity and destiny that welcomes readers into a fantastical world with a unique mythology,” Roth says of a book that sparked a sizeable studio bidding war. “It is very different than anything we’ve seen before.”

There's franchise potential here, too: a notion that usually has studio execs skipping gleefully around their offices. Taylor's second instalment, Days Of Blood And Starlight, was published last month and offers a ready made second helping should the first movie stick. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.
