Joan Allen Is Bourne Again

Back in May, when Rachel Weisz was in talks to join T**he Bourne Legacy (she’s since signed on officially), we wondered if she’d be inheriting the ice queen qualities of Joan Allen’s Pamela Landy. Well, now there’s no inheriting to be done – and if she tries, there could be a rumble,as Allen is in negotiations to reprise the Landy role in the spin-off.

And Allen is not the only Bourne performer looking to make a repeat appearance – Variety reports that Albert Finney is also in talks to return. His role was substantially smaller than Allen’s as he cropped up briefly in The Bourne Ultimatum as a doctor. But given that Legacy marks a whole new chapter of the story, it appears he’ll be a little more involved this time around.

Legacy, of course, follows another CIA asset with a damaged memory and nifty fist sills, this time played by Jeremy Renner. He’s a product of an even more dangerous programme than Bourne’s Treadstone and will no doubt cause problems for Landy.

Edward Norton is close to locking in a deal to play the movie’s big villain, and Oscar Isaac also recently signed on to play another brainwashed killer, known only as Number 3.

Gilroy reportedly aims to start shooting in September, and the film will be out here on August 17 next year.
