She's currently busy as part of the Cannes Film Festival jury this year, but Jessica Chastain is making future plans to get back in front of movie cameras. She's attached to star in and produce Seducing Ingrid Bergman.

Arash Amel, who is also on as a producer, adapted the script from Chris Greenhalgh's 2012 novel. The story will follow the passionate affair between the actress – best known for films such as Casablanca and Gaslight – and war photographer Robert Capa. They struck up a romance in Paris in the aftermath of World War II and brought their connection to Hollywood at a time when the Communism witch hunts were in full swing.

"Jessica is no stranger to portraying strong, intelligent women and this role deserves an actress of her immeasurable talent," says YRF Entertainment boss Uday Chopra. "We also feel that she will bring a unique perspective as a producer.”

This is a step forward for a film that has been floating in limbo for a while – James Mangold was attached for while, but focused instead on Logan. Deadline reports that no director is currently aboard, but perhaps he could be tempted back?

Chastain, last seen in The Zookeeper's Wife, has films such as Woman Walks Ahead, The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan and Molly's Game on the way.
