Jessica Alba is probably not the first person you might think of to play a scheming villain. But that probably makes her a good casting choice for Fanboys director Kyle Newman’s new film, **Barely Lethal{ =nofollow}.

Alba is set to play Victoria Knox, the former associate of a teen assassin called Megan (Hailee Steinfeld), who becomes angry when the younger woman decides she’s had enough of the contract killing life, fakes her own death and enrols at a suburban high school. That, as Chloe Grace Moretz might be able to tell you from **Kick-Ass 2 **and the upcoming Carrie, might be an even more dangerous place to be.

Samuel L Jackson is on board as Steinfeld’s mentor, with Newman directing from a script by John D’Arco. **B****arely Lethal **kicks off filming in October.

Next up for Alba is Machete Kills, set for release here on October 11. She’ll also be seen in Dear Eleanor, Stretch and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which will hit our screens on August 29, 2014.
