Yours and my favourite booty-shaker, J-Lo, is currently doing the rounds on the Croisette, with her new comedy Love and Other Impossible Pursuits now up for grabs from Capitol Films. Directed by Bounce director Don Roos (a man who has writing credits for both Hart To Hart and The Colbys padding out his CV, which is a whole world of wrong), the film stars the Jennster in a story about ‘the exploration of a woman’s moving and funny relationship with her young stepson’. Think Stepmom but with more Latin fire and less of the whole dying of cancer thing.

Also among Capitol’s wares this year is the follow-up film from Joshua Marston, the director of 2004’s Maria Full of Drugs… er, Grace. The film, titled The Fortress of Solitude, is not as may first seem a tale Superman’s early years in which the young Kal-El first discovers his Arctic retreat, but rather a ‘sweeping story of friendship’ set in ‘70s Brooklyn and based on Jonathan Lethem’s book of the same name.

We think the other take would have been better.

A big shout out to all our peeps at ScreenDaily for the heads-up.
