The cast for Jose Padilha’s RoboCop reboot is growing every week, and while we thought all the main roles had been filled, apparently we were wrong. Contagion**’s Jennifer Ehle is now in talks to sign on.

If she jumps aboard, Ehle would play a character called Liz Kline, about whom nothing is known besides her name. Could she be the new Anne Lewis? Time will tell…

This new take on the 1987 Paul Verhoeven sci-fi classic features Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy, the police officer gunned down in the line of duty who is reborn as the cyborg officer. Abbie Cornish will be his wife Ellen; Gary Oldman is on as Norton, the scientist who oversees Robo’s development; while Jackie Earle Haley is Maddox, the military man who trains our hero to fight.

Also involved are Hugh Laurie as a corporate officer at Omnicorp, Jay Baruchel as a PR man and Samuel L Jackson as media mogul Pat Novak.

Padilha starts shooting next month and the movie will arrive on August 9, 2013.

Ehle’s next appearance will be in Kathryn Bigelow’s** Zero Dark Thirty**, which is set for January 25 next year.
