Jeanne Tripplehorn has joined the cast of Grey Gardens, an adaptation of the hit Broadway show adapted from the documentary of the same name. She'll play Jackie Kennedy-Onassis.
Grey Gardens is the story of Big Edie and Little Edie, who were, respectively, aunt and cousin to O'Nassis and a pair of delightfully batshit members of the Kennedy clan, who drew attention when the health department took an interest in the wildlife infested New York Mansion they called home. Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore are already cast as the Edies.
Also swelling the cast are Daniel Baldwin, as Julius Krug, Little Edie's secret love; Ken Howard as Big Edie's husband; Malcolm Gets as Big Edie's accompanist (which might be the best character credit ever); and Ayre Gross as Albert Maysles, the director of the documentary that inspired the broadway play that inspired the movie. Neat.
