Jason Bateman, John Cena

Game Night was one of the unexpected delights of last year, and now there's a minor reunion under way thanks to Netflix. Star Jason Bateman and writer Mark Perez are at work on a new action-comedy, which Bateman will this time direct as well as appearing. And Bumblebee's John Cena will take the lead.

The title hasn't been announced (or perhaps not even decided yet), but the concept sounds a little bit like Night At The Museum or the Magic Kingdom movie that Jon Favreau was developing before Disney duty on Jungle Book and this year's The Lion King took his attention away. Whatever its name, the film's plot will find a family stuck in an old abandoned movie studio whose sets come to life and the group has to make it through a variety of genres.

This will mark Bateman's latest directing gig after Bad Words and episodes of his Netflix series Ozark. Cena, meanwhile, has worked on Project X-traction with Jackie Chan and will be heard in The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle as Yoshi the polar bear.
