Exclusive: Rick McCallum on the tao of Jango Fett

Star Wars had Darth Vader, Episode I had Darth Maul, but who will capture hearts and minds in the upcoming Attack of The Clones? Christopher Lee's certainly cool but hardly has the geek-appeal to set fans' pulses racing and no matter how toned down Jar Jar's antics are, we'll eat our own feet before believing it's him. According to producer Rick McCallum, Episode II's iconic anti-hero is none other than Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett. Given his action debut in the recent trailers, Jango, father of Boba, looks to be poster boy for Attack of The Clones and if there's one action figure guaranteed to be on every child's Christmas list next year, it's this one. "He is the ultimate accessory dude," McCallum told Empire. "Forget all the bullshit that we have today - colour mobile phones - this dude knows how to party. He comes to it with everything." Given that Boba Fett's brief appearances in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of The Jedi made him one of the all time favourite Star Wars characters, it's not too much of a leap to imagine Jango will follow in his offspring's footsteps. "He's my favourite," enthuses McCallum, "he's my dream - to have the ability to walk into a studio meeting with that gear on, and say, 'Dude, I've got an idea.'
