As part of Netflix's huge deal buying Mark Millar's Millarworld company to develop films, series and comicbooks with the man behind Kick-Ass and more, the company is working on an adaptation of The Magic Order. Now we know who will be overseeing the series, as James Wan is on to produce and direct the first episode, with Chaos Walking writer Lindsey Beer on to run the show.

Millar created the comic book and wrote it, with art by Olivier Copel. It follows five families of magicians sworn to protect our world must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day they live among everyday people as neighbors, friends and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness, unless the darkness gets them first...

Wan – who is also orchestrating the ever-expanding Conjuring universe – is signed to direct the sequel to his D hit Aquaman. Beer, who wrote Sierra Burgess Is A Loser for Netflix, has various scripts in development, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot.
