Much of what will constitute James Wan's new, secret horror movie remains under wraps for now. We do at least now know that Wan is recruiting someone from his ever-expanding Conjuring universe as one of the leads, with Annabelle's Annabelle Wallis on to star.

This is the small-scale, practical effects-laden horror that Wan is squeezing on to his schedule before he dives back into the expansive DC Universe for the Aquaman sequel. He cooked up the new story with The Nun actor Ingrid Bisu, but according to Variety, there's no word yet on who will actually have script credit.

The plan is to shoot the harder-edged horror this autumn in Los Angeles, before Wan switches back into pre-production mode and returns to Atlantis. The new film has yet to lock in a release date.

Wallis will be seen in Joe Carnahan's Boss Level and has also worked on sci-fi thriller Warning.
