Gangsters: they're so hot right now. While The Gangster Squad has become a magnet for every big name in town and Tom Hardy's apparently up for Capone movie Cicero, Relativity has begun work on Ness/Capone, by hiring James McTeigue to direct a Prohibition story where the moral lines aren't as clear-cut as usual.

This version, instead of having Kevin Costner hanging out with Sean Connery and looking after a pregnant Patricia Clarkson, would see Elliott Ness as a knight in less-than-shining armour. This Ness is a womaniser and attention seeker who gets off on kicking doors down and collaring whisky smugglers.

McTeigue, who brought us V For Vendetta and Ninja Assassin, also has The Raven, with John Cusack, headed our way, and is planning Message From The King as his next film before he tackles this one - so don't hold your breath still yet.

But what do you think? Are you ready to have your view of Elliott Ness sullied? And with that slash in the title, is there any way that this simply turns into the epic story of a TV interview between the pair?
