It's a little hard not to see James McAvoy with a shaved head and threatening people without thinking, 'blimey, Professor X really reacted badly to the Apocalypse reviews...' But in reality, this is McAvoy stretching his acting muscles to play the troubled Kevin in M Night Shyamalan's new film Split. See the latest trailer below.

Split finds Shyamalan back working with the Blumhouse team after the success of The Visit. The film has McAvoy's Kevin displaying 23 disparate personalities as identified by his therapist Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley). Among them is an unhinged character who kidnaps and imprisons young women, including Casey (The Witch's Anya Taylor-Joy) for a mysterious but almost certainly nefarious purpose. As Casey and her fellow captives try to escape, they wonder whether other personalities lurking in Kevin's mind can help. And Dr. Fletcher worries that he's becoming something new...

With Haley Lu Richardson, Kim Director, Brad William Henke and Jessica Sula in the cast, Split will be out in the UK on 20 January.
