For a long time, Tommy Wiseau’s so-bad-it’s-fun movie The Room has been a favourite of comedy stars in the US, particularly among the crowd that includes Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd. So taken is James Franco with it that he’s planning a movie about its creation, and has just made a deal with The Fault In Our Stars writers Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber to craft the script.

They’ll adapt actor Greg Sestro’s book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, which he wrote with journalist Tom Bissell. The tome chronicles the chaotic making of The Room, which really needs to be seen rather than described. You can find the trailer here to give you a taste of the finished product.

Dave Franco is attached to star as Sestero, with his older brother directing and playing Wiseau, who thought his filmmaking dreams had come true when he got to shoot the drama, only to watch it become a cult sensation for all the wrong reasons.

Neustadter and Weber, who also wrote **(500) Days Of Summe****r **and The Spectacular Now, have several projects in the works including another book from Stars author John Green, Paper Towns, and Romeo & Juliet-inspired film Rosaline.
