With Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt aboard to star, Disney's latest attempt to spin one of its theme park rides into a film franchise is adding to the cast. Jack Whitehall is the newest recruit for Jungle Cruise.

According to Variety, he'll play Blunt's brother, one of the other key roles in the film. Not much is known about the story for this one, beyond the obvious: we can expect things going comically wrong during a river cruise. You can bet on animal encounters and probably The Rock punching at least one person. Or animal. Or both.

With Michael Green contributing the latest draft of the script and Jaume Collet-Serra in the director's chair, the film will start shooting in May.

Whitehall, the star of Bad Education (in both its TV and film forms) will be seen in The Nutcracker And The Four Realms (out 26 October) and has a role in the TV adaptation of Good Omens, which will hit screens in 2019.
