Kids and their screen time, eh? Always wanting to spend their days staring at iPads or a computer, and that's only gotten worse during These Lockdown Times with so much of schooling migrating online. But what if the content on the digital device was scarier than your average episode of Paw Patrol? That's the thinking behind new horror pic Come Play, which has a trailer online.

Come Play, written and directed by Jacob Chase, finds Marriage Story's Azhy Robertson as Oliver, a lonely young boy who feels different from everyone else. Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet. When a mysterious creature uses Oliver’s devices against him to break into our world, Oliver’s parents (Gillian Jacobs and John Gallagher Jr.) must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen. If only they'd read the bit in the Apple terms and conditions that says, "device may become a gateway for demonic presences".

It sounds a little like Annabelle for the iPad generation, and the film will be out in the US on 30 October. There's no firm word on a UK date just yet.
