Paul Verhoeven may have caused a stir when he released the original Basic Instinct, but Sharon Stone uncrossing her legs may prove to be the least controversial aspect of its impending sequel if Crash helmsman David Cronenberg takes the reigns. Cronenberg is in advanced negotiations to pick up where the Dutch director left off, leading Stone in her second turn as bisexual murderess Catherine Tramell. With a CV that includes everything from the disturbing to the downright bizarre, Cronenberg is more than capable of making sure the second round of murders-by-icepick cause as much of a stir as the first.
