Disney Makes A Deal For Indiana Jones

And so the wait for the fifth* Indiana Jones film stretches ever longer. Following on from the big news that Steven Spielberg is stepping away from directing it, with James Mangold potentially taking his place, comes word that we won't now see Dr. Jones back on our screens until 2022 at the earliest.

While the film had been placed on 9 July next year, Disney's recent release date shuffle means that it'll now head to 29 July 2022. Which does give the filmmakers (in whatever configuration they end up) more time to work on the movie. It'll also have to wait out the shut down in productions that the pandemic has brought with it. There are some things even Indy can't fight.

Which means, if you were one of those waiting to see Harrison Ford tackle another historical adventure... just wait longer. Again. At this point, they may end up having Indy played by Terry Notary in a motion capture suit, with Ford doing the voice.

*Contractual "There was a fourth?" joke here.
