Few first-time directors get to work with top-notch thesps, so we’re guessing that writer/helmer Jonathan Ogilvie must have produced something special in his script for The Tender Hook – as he’s bagged Hugo Weaving, Rose Byrne and Garage Days’ Matt Le Nevez.
Hook’s hook is a 1920s film noir that follows a young woman’s rise within a love and power struggle set in the world of boxing.
Now that he has his cast, Ogilvie will start shooting the film in Sydney next February.
