This is traumatic stuff indeed. Hugh Grant has broken up with the forthcoming Working Title film, Lost for Words, in which he was scheduled to star opposite Ziyi Zhang. Grant cited "creative differences" for the move, with his spokeswoman saying that the filmmakers "had not been able to get a script that everyone agreed on".

The film, which we reported on way back in the mists of time (here), was to star Grant as a British film star who falls for the Chinese director of the film he's making there (Zhang) after a brief flirtation with her translator - only for that translator to do her best to scupper his chances.

Susanne Bier is directing, and the film is still said to be moving forward, so let's hope that they find a script everyone can agree on and get moving. And let's also hope that this doesn't finally end the fairytale romance of Hugh Grant and Working Title - we're just not sure we could handle that. You're M.F.E.O., guys: made for each other.
