John Malkovich has perfected an Essex accent to land himself the part of a vicious hit-man in an as-yet untitled low-budget British flick about the underworld execution of three drug lords in 1995. Loosely based on a true story, the film from the Granada media group will have Malkovich - currently starring as a Russian poker-joint operator in Rounders - playing one of two assassins currently serving life sentences for the killings. The making of the film could prove controversial - one police officer has already slammed the project in The Mirror for glamourising 'cold-blooded, evil criminals'.
