Next May is going to be quite a month for cult space operas. At one end of the scale is an independent film from a 70s auteur, tackling questions of the corruption in the hearts of men and man's inhumanity to man in the heat of war, through the medium of lightsabers and Gungans. At the other end of the scale is a search for the meaning of life, the universe and everything with the help of a sort of galactic Rough Guide and a paranoid android. Yes, that's right - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is out in a mere six months, and it's time to start getting ready. Unfortunately, there isn't much out there to prepare us for Douglas Adams' epic, as this new teaser trailer shows. Or rather doesn't show. Yes, the trailer, which you can watch here singularly fails to add anything to our knowledge of the subject for anyone who has ever read any Adams at all. It is, in fact, pretty much exactly the same as the teaser shown at ComicCon months ago, just cleaned up and enlarged and possibly slightly bluer than it was. Still, it might cause you to crack a smile on a cloudy Monday, and that can't be a bad thing.
