If asked to list the vehicles in which we’d pick to make a life-altering road trip, a homemade Weiner mobile – that is a van that resembles a giant hot dog – wouldn’t even make the top 75. But then we don’t live in a comedy.
Writer Mark Steilen will slip into the director’s chair for Screen Gems’ Weiners, the story of a group of best friends who travel across the country in just such a van to confront their inner demons. Oh, and clash with a nefarious talk show host. Did we mention this is a comedy?
And Steilen already has a cast in place – Gregory Smith, Kenan Thompson, Zachary Levi and Fran Kanz are on board. The film hits the road in Utah next month.
