For a series that has yet to receive an official order for its next season or two, Netflix's The Crown is proceeding under the impression – you've got to imagine an accurate one – that the show will indeed be returning, and continues to line up new performers to play the royal family as the years progress. Now comes word that Helena Bonham Carter will be Princess Margaret.

Vanessa Kirby had the role in seasons one and two, but as with the role of Queen Elizabeth (which will shift from Claire Foy to Olivia Colman), Margaret's next set of life stories will be told with Bonham Carter in the part, assuming her deal comes together. We're still waiting to learn who will inherit the role of Prince Phillip from Matt Smith.

Early production is reportedly under way on Seasons three and four despite that lack of official green light, and should likely expect the show to return next year.

Bonham Carter has Ocean's Eight due out this year, with the film headed our way on 22 June.
