Despite claims that Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger were shunning the thespian life for a year to devote themselves to daughter Matilda, the pair have both now signed up for Todd Haynes’ previously announced - and truly intriguing - Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There.

Intriguing how? Try this: Dylan will not just be portrayed in the usual biopic fashion of slavishly following his life or a chunk of it, a la Ray. I’m Not There will see six actors playing Dylan – Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, Layer Cake’s Ben Whishaw and, er, Cate Blanchett. No, that’s not a misprint.

There’s one more Dylan still waiting to be cast, but Julianne Moore and Charlotte Gainsbourg are also appearing in the film, which will shoot in Montreal this July.
