It's been a little while since Renny Harlin had a hit. Round these parts, we have a soft spot for the guy, thanks to Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight and an abiding love for the cheese-tastic Deep Blue Sea. But the latest of those came out in '99, and since then Renny's laboured with lacklustre projects like Driven, Mindhunters and Exorcist: The Beginning. Could this run of bad luck be about to change as he gets ready to direct The Covenant? Based on a graphic novel by writer Aron Coleite and artist Tone Rodriguez, the story is set in a world where four families hold a vast magical power between them. This eldritch ability is passed down from father to son, and we join the story just as the four scions of the family
