Hardy Offered Fanged Role

Tom Hardy is the male Scarlett Johansson. Or is she the female Tom Hardy? Either way, between them they’re being offered parts in almost every film at the moment. While Scarlett is on the hook for Cameron Crowe’s new film, Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin and more, Hardy might be cropping up in Snow White and the Huntsman (unless Johnny Depp decides to do it) and has apparently been offered a role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Right now, this is merely rumour, but according to Bloody Disgusting, Hardy is wanted to play Henry Sturgess, the vampire who agrees to mentor Lincoln in the ways of dispatching his fellow fanged fiends.

The US President, of course, harbours a deadly grudge against the nightwalkers, who he learns killed his mother after his father got behind on a debt to them.

There’s no word yet on who will be donning the mutton chops and picking up an axe to play the vamp-slaying President (though we sort of want director Timur Bekmambetov to cast Liam Neeson just to show Steven Spielberg what he’s missing by not making his Lincoln biopic), but the plan is to shoot the film next year to meet a planned release date of June 22, 2012.
