Given his attachment to the likes of Christopher Nolan’s Bat-trilogy, the current incarnation of Spider-Man and, most notably, Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel, it would honestly surprise us more to learn that composer Hans Zimmer is rolling out a dubstep remix of his Going For Gold theme tune than word that he’s agreed to write the music for the Batman-adding Man Of Steel follow-up.

Though he’d said he might not tackle it, Zimmer has told Digital Spy that he is indeed stepping back into Snyder’s superheroic world. "We've already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas," Zimmer said.

The biggest issue for him will be making this new take on the Caped Crusader different from the score he crafted for the last three Bat-films. "That's my problem, that's my dilemma. I don't want to betray, if that's the right word, the** Dark Knight** movies. That was Christian; it was Christian's role. It's not just that it was nine years of our lives, so you want to stay honest and honourable to that period. So it's really about: 'Is there something else I can find that I haven't tapped into?' Which I don't know until I sit down with Zack."

With Snyder currently calling the shots on Batman Vs. Superman, Superman & Batman, Steel Manolias or whatever it ends up being called, the new movie will be out in the UK on April 29, 2016. For more from Zimmer, check out our recent chat with the man behind the music.
