Though there have been recent opportunities to hear Hans Zimmer’s music performed here in the UK – such as the screening of **Gladiator at the Albert Hall **with his score played by an orchestra – the composer has now announced a plan to give a concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in October.

Despite being titled Hans Zimmer Revealed, it won’t in fact, feature the composer giving it the full Magic Mike, but is actually the man himself playing pieces from his vast history of movie soundtracks alongside some special guests.

“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled that that time has finally come,” says Zimmer in a statement. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”

Naturally, given how varied his work tends to be, this won’t just be a traditional orchestral set up; there will be rock and electronica elements also. And, if everyone believes and claps with all their hearts then maybe – just maybe – he'll play Going For Gold.

The event is scheduled for October 10 and 11, and tickets will be on sale from 10:00am today here, or by calling 0844 249 4300.
