With the hype machine already nicely warmed up thanks the recent 'will she or won't she' speculation about Jodie Foster, Hannibal, the sequel to Silence of the Lambs, has begun pre -production in Italy. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that producer Dino De Laurentiis, director Ridley Scott and set designer Norris Spencer are in Florence this week to start scouting locations.
One place that will definitely be on their list is the famous apothecary Santa Maria Novella, which feature in the novel. The proprietors of this venerable establishment are well aware of the fact too - apparently they've taken to selling copies of Hannibal the book in the store.
