If you go down to the woods today, you’re probably better off avoiding the creepy 14-year-old raised by her ex-CIA agent father as a dedicated killing machine… Yes, the trailer for Joe Wright’s Hanna, starring Eric Bana, Saoirse Ronan and Cate Blanchett has arrived online and you can watch it below.

While Hanna’s upbringing and serious daddy issues are vaguely similar to Chloe Moretz’ Hit Girl from Kick-Ass, the similarities end there, as Ronan’s Hanna has been trained as an even more ruthless assassin in the wilds by her pop (Bana). He decides she’s ready to learn more about her background, but instead of sitting her down for a heart-to-heart, he has her reveal their hidden location to an intelligence team led by Blanchett’s Marissa Wiegler, who promptly brings Hanna in. But Hanna has her own, much more lethal reasons for wanting to meet Wiegler and promptly escapes, leading the team on a deadly chase across Europe and eventually trying to settle into a more normal life with a regular family headed by Olivia Williams…

Boasting Wright’s film-directing hand and a score by the Chemical Brothers, Hanna looks to be anchored by intriguing performances from Ronan, Bana and Blanchett and gives off a decidedly Bourne-esque feel, albeit with a feral, yet tactically smart, girl in place of Matt Damon.

Take a look at the trailer above and let us know your thoughts. Hanna stalks into cinemas on April 8.
