Fresh off The Polar Express, Tom Hanks is already planning his next foray into kid's lit. His company Playtone (remember? They produced My Big Fat Greek Wedding among other things) has bought the rights to Jeanne DuPrau's novel The City of Ember. Ember is set in the future, after toxins and pollution have made the world's surface uninhabitable and driven the population to cities underground. Two teens, Doon and Lina, realise that something is seriously wrong
