After a lot of build-up, the usual casting trickle feed of news and plenty of jokes from directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the Han Solo Star Wars Story film is now shooting in Pinewood. To celebrate, Miller posted an image of the first slate.

The usual blast shields are down on most of the information on this one, but we do know that Alden Ehrenreich is playing the younger Solo, with Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as Han's mentor figure and Emilia Clarke in a role that no one is talking about yet.

The script coms from Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon and we're expecting big things from the directing duo, who have a habit of taking unlikely ideas and making winning movies. No pressure, guys. And as for that working title? Red Cup is a jokesome reference to the Solo brand cups usually spotted at parties.

In related Star Wars news, The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is also feeling jocular, tweeting out a link to a song from John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats, which was spawned from them joking around. Suffice to say The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All The Other Jedi And Eats Their Bones probably doesn't give a clue to any of the actual story for the new episodic entry, but it's certainly fun, and more entertaining than Jedi Rocks.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out on 15 December this year. The still-untitled Solo film will be with us on 25 May next year.
