Ah, Steve Guttenberg. It may be years since we saw you in cinemas (we're going to pretend that Major Movie Star trailer didn't happen, and you should too) and decades since you were in anything good, but thanks to that stunning run of success from Police Academy to Cocoon to Three Men and a Baby, you'll always be a part of our Hall of '80s Fame. So we wish you luck with your newest drama, The Well.

In this new film, His Guttes (that sounds bad) plays the father to a son who goes missing, just as his parents are going through a messy and painful divorce. A "desperate rescue attempt" follows, which, we're guessing, links in with the film's title because maybe, just maybe, the son is stuck in one.

Aislinn Sands and Dominic Rickhards are co-starring, with Stephen Manuel directing. The latter's Irish but has made lots of German TV - how multicultural! - while the former was in Father Ted once as a check-out girl (she's had bigger roles, but never in such a sublime series) and the, er, middle used to be in Corrie.

We aren't going to put money on this making it to cinemas, but wouldn't it be nice to see The Guttes back on the big screen, even if only for auld lang syne?
