The film stars Milla Jovovich as the titular character, a woman infected with Haemophagia, a vampire-like disease ravaging humanity and creating a conflict between the “pure” and those with the virus. She’s forced to protect a nine-year-old boy who has been marked for death by the government, which believes he’s a threat to humans.
