He might be taking it a little easier on the cinematic directorial front after Oscar success with The Shape Of Water, but don't expect Guillermo del Toro to take that much of a break. He's now developing a horror anthology series for Netflix called 10 After Midnight.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, del Toro will personally curate the stories for the series, which aims to be both sophisticated and horrific, with stand-alone scares along the lines of the defunct Masters Of Horror show.

The Shape Of Water producer J Miles Dale is also at work on the series, which will gather genre writers and directors to produce the various episodes, with del Toro writing and potentially directing some of them. Netflix has yet to specify when the show will premiere (since it's still embryonic) nor how many episodes will fill the first season – though you could see a double meaning in the title and we could possibly see 10 in the initial run.

It's certainly and enticing prospect to see more work from the director, and it keeps him in the Netflix family after creating Trollhunters for the streaming service. And horror anthologies seem to be hot right now – Netflix competitor Hulu has producer Jason Blum's team working up feature-length anthology terror tales to run in October.
