Jessica Chastain and Michael Stuhlbarg have already been cast, and they're now set to be joined in the gun-control drama Miss Sloane by Gugu Mbatha-Raw. John Madden (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel) is the director.

The film sees Chastain playing the titular Elizabeth Sloane, a "political fixer" undertaking the Herculean task of trying to get gun-control legislation past Washington's powerful gun lobby. As her campaign for tighter background checks gains traction in Congress, she makes some significant enemies and finds her career and family at risk.

Mbatha-Raw will be on her side as a gun-control lobbyist, although her character has a secret that may be a problem. Stuhlbarg apparently plays a feisty Irishman. His allegiance in the debate isn't yet clear.

Newcomer Jonathan Perera wrote the screenplay, and Miss Sloane is coming together courtesy of EuropaCorp and FilmNation. The casting process continues. We'll next see Mbatha-Raw in Concussion, which is out in the UK on February 12.
