Hearts Beat Loud director Brett Haley already knows something about blending emotion and music, and he's now been hired to do it again for Paramount's Grease prequel Summer Loving.
First hitting the news radar last year, Summer Loving will fill in more details of the story sung in Summer Nights in the 1978 musical. In it, Danny Zuko (John Travolta) and Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton John) offer their differing, Rashomon-for-romance perspectives on their summer fling. So now the studio will literally tell you more.
Leah McKendrick wrote the script and Haley's on to direct, though there's no schedule in place yet. His next film to arrive will be Sorta Like A Rockstar for Netflix.
