Kevin Costner turns to the bottle for new comedy

Given that golf is, without doubt, the most tedious spectator sport in the history of the universe (closely followed by darts), it's quite surprising to hear that Kevin Costner will once more be bringing the game to our screens. Taming Ben Taylor will return Costner to the world of putting greens and under pars in a remake of an eighties Italian comedy about a love-lorn vineyard owner. While enjoying a simple life among the vines, said vintner becomes enamoured by a hard-nosed real estate agent, one who happens to be dead set on turning his winery into a golf course. Michelle Pfeiffer is a signature away from signing on as the lovely lady. While we're not convinced that anything to do with golf is worthy of feature film attention, the sport in this case does seem incidental to the plot rather than the focal point - not that a film about wine-making is exactly high concept. Still, Coster actually got it right with the golferific Tin Cup so maybe we're all in for a pleasant surprise.
