If we got to choose an extra set of parents, there's a good chance that we'd choose John Goodman and Joan Cusack. Mainly because they make us laugh and we could spend many a family dinner asking them to re-enact the bowling scenes from The Big Lebowski or the giant hair from Broadcast News. The pair has been cast as mum and dad to Isla Fisher in the upcoming comedy Shopaholic.

Based on the Sophie Kinsella novel, Shopaholic centres on a woman (Fisher) trying to cope with her massive credit card debt whilst attempting to make it in the crazy world of New York magazines. P.J. Hogan is directing.

This movie's assembling a fine cast. Goodman, Cusack and Fisher are all extremely fine comedians and eminently likeable to boot. Other cast members include Hugh Dancy and Krysten Ritter. We're not familiar with Krysten Ritter, but we're going to assume she's nice by association.
