Glenn Close Headed Back To TV

The never-ending stream of big-name stars treading the waters of quality telly continues – though this time it’s an actress with some recent experience under her belt to help sway her decision.

Glenn Close, who spent a season playing a tough police captain on US cable cop drama The Shield, will return to the same network – FX – for an untitled legal drama.

She’s naturally nabbed the lead, a high-stakes lawyer named Patty Hughes, who apparently isn’t above unorthodox means to win cases. Unfortunately, that’s all we do know about the show, except that FX chiefs told Variety that it will be a courtroom drama with an “FX twist”. Which, roughly translated, means swearing, violence and taboo pushing. We can’t wait!

Created by Sopranos writer Todd A Kessler alongside Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler, it’ll start shooting in New York this February.
