So it's from the director of Highlander and the star of The Punisher, features oodles of shooting and vats of blood: surely Give 'Em Hell, Malone should be at least a cult hit. Never heard of it? Well, have a look at this trailer and get a taster of the film.
Jane plays Malone, a tough private investigator who has to protect a valuable secret from gangsters and thugs. Although the film's set in the 1970s, Malone appears to have taken his fashion cues very much from the 1930s, as does his love interest Evelyn (Elsa Pataky). He's up against a rogue's gallery including Ving Rhames, Chris Yen (Donnie Yen's younger sister) Doug Hutchison and Leland Orser.
The first promo trailer here was cut to Bad To The Bone and was even heavier on the action, but this Cannes cut gives a slightly better idea of the film, albeit a more traditional one. There's no release date yet, but keep an eye out later this year.
