Joining previously deceased co-star Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi's Parker Selfridge has been officially confirmed as a returning character in James Cameron's Avatar sequels.

Selfridge was, as you'll remember, the head of RDA and a man obsessed with finding Unobtanium on the moon of Pandora. How he'll show up in the various sequels has yet to be announced, but Cameron started filming the movies with the first of two planned back-to-back blocks late last month.

Ribisi is just the latest returning name for the movie, as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Joel David Moore and Stephen Lang are all back with a pack of young newcomers and such recognisable names as Kate Winslet and Cliff Curtis adding to the fresh faces.

Avatar 2 will be out on 18 December 2020, with the other three movies following in 2021, 2024 and 2025. Ribisi last appeared in The Bad Batch and can be found on the Amazon series Sneaky Pete.
