Got a problem? Odds against you? Call The Equalizer.

The Weinstein Company clearly has a problem: they need another classic TV show to make into a movie. So they called on Edward Woodward’s disillusioned former government agent, a man who tries to make amends for his dark past by helping people out. With a gun.

And Harvey Weinstein’s not just digging into his wallet. He’s also mining a fond memory: “The Equalizer was one of my favourite TV series in the 1980's because the writing was always smart and very unpredictable. I am really excited about developing and producing this film."

No word yet on a director, cast or scriptwriter. We doubt that Woodward will return to star, though the campaign surely starts here for a grouchy cameo.
